Inspired by the distinguished American fine jewelry houses of the early 1900's, Megan Baker minted Baker & Black in 2013. She is interested in synthesizing bygone attitudes towards fine jewelry with contemporary aesthetics to create uncommon designs for the modern woman. With a painterly approach to gems, Megan incorporates oft overlooked stones and shades to create vibrant, striking jewels free of ostentation yet full of originality.
At the center of each finished piece is a concept Megan Baker articulates through her rigorous design and manufacturing process. She presents to the world her perspective on life’s small treasures, and the new, old way modern women should collect and wear fine jewelry.
Megan is dedicated to social and environmental responsibility within the greater jewelry community. She is committed to the preservation of this beautiful Earth, her greatest resource and ultimate inspiration. Baker & Black uses recycled gold with few exceptions, and strives to always make educated and responsible sourcing decisions.
